Helen Beth Morris, Enrolled Agent (E.A.)

I have been preparing income taxes for over 20 years. In 1999 I took and passed the Enrolled Agent exam which is administered by the U.S. Treasury. An Enrolled Agent (EA) is to taxes much like a CPA is to accounting. I had to pass a four-part exam that covered all aspects of taxation to obtain my EA license. In order to maintain my license I must complete annual continuing education requirements and remain in good standing with the IRS. With my EA license I can practice before the IRS, which includes preparing and filing documents, communicating with the IRS, and representing taxpayers in matters involving the IRS.

In 2004, I took and passed Oregon State Board of Tax Practitioners License Tax Consultant (LTC) Exam. It is the highest rank Oregon gives to its tax preparers. This licensed needs to be renewed annually and requires that I complete education requirements and remain in good standing.

Prior to my tax work, I worked in the banking industry as a Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Officer and obtained my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in finance from Santa Clara University in California.
